About the Role

SoFi is in the business of creating innovative and transparent financial products, delivering them with user-friendly technology, and supporting our customers (who we call members) with benefits to help them reach their financial and professional goals faster. We are seeking a savvy marketer that can own and execute a go-to-market plan focused on the unique benefits we deliver to SoFi members.

As our Member Benefits PMM, you’ll build a thoughtful, differentiated positioning for our current member benefits and lead a coordinated effort to drive opportunities for existing (and future) benefits. This is a highly cross-functional role, both within our Marketing team and across different departments in SoFi. This role reports to our Senior Director of Member Strategy.

By joining SoFi, you're joining a new kind of finance company based around speed, transparency, and alignment with our members’ interests. Our goal is to be the center of our members’ financial lives. We created student loan refinancing, addressing the biggest financial challenge this new generation has through a new approach to lending. We expanded into other types of loans, and then into insurance and wealth management with similarly inventive products. As the company has grown, we’ve been able to help more people with these tools.

SoFi has achieved significant growth, with big plans ahead. In just the last year, we've more than doubled our member base (300,000 strong), doubled loan volume ($8 billion in 2016), and grown our team from under 200 people to more than 1,000. We're preparing to go global, with expansion to Australia and Canada planned this year. And we're well capitalized to power all this growth, having raised $1.9 billion in equity backing. But we'll only be able to continue this growth with great talent, and that includes you.


In this role, you will:

Build the product positioning and value proposition for one or more member benefits, which you’ll roll out into the market.
Conduct various tests and research to identify consumer insights around major life events and triggers. You’ll use these insights to create a compelling narrative around the benefits we offer to our members.
Distill and report insights across the entire SoFi organization, earning buy-in to pursue new opportunities and remedy member pain points.
Understand and report on changes taking place in the broader market, including competitive threats and consumer trends.

Desired Skills & Experience:

You have 3-5 years relevant marketing experience, preferably in consumer product marketing
You’re analytical and make data-driven decisions: Use data to drive strategy, execution, and optimization
You’re strategic + love to execute: Combine strategic thinking with tactical execution
You’re a storyteller: Passion for crafting a compelling story that drives people to action
You’re a self-starter: Eager to roll up your sleeves and get stuff done
You’re able to be flexible: Ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced, self-driven environment
You have a healthy understanding of personal finance: … but you don’t need to be a banker!
Bachelor’s degree required – business and/or marketing concentration preferred
