As we prepare for our next chapter of growth, we are looking for a Senior Web Engineer to help us move faster and to work on a platform that improves the delivery speed of the engineering team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies like JavaScript, React.js, Next.js, JSS, SASS, PostCSS, JSX, Lighthouse, PageSpeed, Chrome Performance, Redux, Restful web services, Webpack.
As a Senior Web Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in the technology stack mentioned above to tackle complex, large-scale problems and shape the future of our system's architecture to meet evolving requirements. You'll also play a key role in defining SLAs to ensure our systems are performing at their best.

You will
- Design and develop web applications that are resilient, highly available and scalable with JavaScript and React
- Make a substantial impact on the evolution of our architecture to meet future requirements and help establish its SLAs.
- Create top-notch code that is scalable, reliable, and reusable in addition to following engineering best practices.
- Draft technical documents if necessary and identify any potential risks ahead of time to ensure the smooth functioning of the system.
- Write unit/integration tests to ensure the high quality of the application
- Analyze the product design complexity, plan workload, communicate risks
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including development, code reviews, testing, and production deployment
- Develop new user-facing features
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Work closely with stakeholders, PM’s and Researchers to deliver new features.
- Own the front-end roadmap tasks for the initiative and work closely with mobile and backend teams.
- Own the task end to end and do not rely on QA
- Have to constantly update your stakeholders about the progress, and share ideas with the product team proactively.

- Own the WEB tasks in the grooming sessions
- Do professional cross-team communication and follow-up
- Be mentoring others on complex tasks and quality related topics, and encouraging them to take on more complex tasks and responsibilities
About you
- BS/MA degree in a highly quantitative field or equivalent, as well as a minimum of 6 years of experience as a Senior JavaScript / Frontend Engineer or in a similar position
- Master the whole technology stack that is relevant for the job, especially JavaScript, TypeScript, and related technologies, with ReactJS being essential
- Proficiency with JSS, SASS, PostCSS, and JSX
- Experience with Responsive/Adaptive Web Design and Single Page Applications, as well as PageSpeed, Lighthouse, and Chrome Performance tools
- Knowledge of JS and CSS performance optimizations is advantageous, as is experience with Redux and RESTful web services
- Familiarity with build tools like Webpack is a plus
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a global team
- Ability to influence technical decisions across a large number of engineers
- Coaching and growing the tech skills of other team members
- Good trade off decisioning - balance between product requirements and technical excellence
- Effectively communicating about day to day activities both inside and outside the team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required
- Would be a great plus - working in platform team with proven record of evolving the technology of that platform
