As a Solutions Engineer, you will help team efforts to retain business and service existing accounts by contributing key technical and product expertise. The Solutions Engineer will influence pre-sales strategy and be responsible for configuring and implementing client data flows. You will become an expert in varying requirements and use cases across our broad portfolio of customers and develop the skills to apply StreamNative technology to meet client objectives best. Technical expertise is a must to explain details and answer questions simply, to architect a solution. In this client-facing role, you will also work closely with the Product Management and Engineering teams to create solutions and enhance the product based on customer feedback and market demand. The Solutions Engineer must be confident in articulating technology and product positioning to business and technical audiences while establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
What You'll be Doing
- Act as a technical product expert during client meetings to explain core StreamNative technology and its value
- Act as technical point of contact for follow-up questions, integration and pilot setup, and provide documentation.
- Manage client data ingestion process for pilots and tests
- Escalate, track and solve client implementation issues
- Access internal systems and tools to fulfill requests for data and analysis
- Act as a technical resource in support of ongoing business development initiatives
- Document and report internally relevant marketplace learnings and client requests to inform future product development
- Gather technical and business needs and requirements from clients and work closely with the product team to architect solutions
- Configure client solutions and work with relevant product and engineering teams to develop custom solutions within the overall product development framework whenever necessary
- Create reports and presentations to convey StreamNative value to prospects and clients
- Maintain strong, active relationships with key client stakeholders
- Assist in creating, organizing, and disseminating information both internally and externally
About You
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic who thrives in an environment that is fast-paced, demanding, fun and entrepreneurial
- Strong technical and analytical skills with experience in the data streaming, analytics, or event/messaging space
- Strong consultative skills, personable, charismatic
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple accounts simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills and strong presentation skills
- Ability to ask key questions to scope projects, qualify/disqualify opportunities, gather detailed product requirements, etc.
- Ability to create PowerPoint presentations and reports
- Experience demoing platforms and data streaming services
- 7+ years of relevant experience in Solutions Engineering for complex SaaS or B2B technologies
- 5+ years of experience with public cloud providers including but not limited to AWS, Azure, GCP, etc. as well as interfacing with them programmatically through APIs.
- 5+ years of relevant experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
