Public Relations Manager at PicsArt

Description:

PicsArt is seeking a Public Relations Manager to join our growing marketing and communications team. We’re looking for someone who is extremely familiar and comfortable with media pitching and is always on top of the latest social and pop-culture trends. You will work with the Director of Communications to develop a consumer-focused PR content calendar and effectively pitch and communicate PicsArt trends, partnerships, promotions, and social insight data with press. You will work closely with multiple teams and offices to gather timely and relevant content for promotion and pitching.

The ideal candidate will have public relations experience, whether in-house or in an agency setting, and be eager to learn and grow their skill set in this hands-on role that will truly impact the business. We're looking for someone with a passion for public relations and social media, strong writing skills, excellent analytical and organizational skills, and a strong interest in communications and storytelling. This position is based in San Francisco and reports to the Director of Communications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Brainstorming and pitching unique story ideas to consumer and tech media outlets, editors, and freelancers (ex: Buzzfeed, Elite Daily, Thought Catalog, Refinery29, Mashable, Bustle, College Candy, Vox, The Daily Beast).

  • Monitoring media, news outlets, and social media channels to keep up to date on industry current events and trends

  • Working with our trends and content team to stay on top of consumer-trending topics on PicsArt and on social, as well as brainstorming ways to promote these trends with press

  • Building and fostering relationships with key consumer media as well as ensuring strategic media placement with relevant blogs, magazines, digital publications, and more

  • Creating ongoing proactive campaigns that keep PicsArt top-of-mind with consumer audiences

  • Collaborating with our community team to brainstorm campaigns and promotions that help highlight the PicsArt influencer community, build, brand awareness, and encourage consistent app-use

  • Building and maintaining media lists, as well as assisting in finding and organizing new media contacts

  • Help to draft press releases and bylined articles, as well as award and speaking submissions

  • Assistance with event planning, coordination, execution, and participation

  • Assistance with media and interview scheduling with executive team members

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, PR, Journalism, or Communications

  • At least 2+ years experience (at an agency or in-house) with proactive media pitching and 3-5 years of relevant work experience

  • Experience conceiving and pitching targeted stories to consumer, business and technology media (Track record of well-crafted media relations results a plus!)

  • Knowledge, passion, and heavy usage of social networking apps like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Snapchat

  • Ability to draft and package top-notch content on rapid deadlines

  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a changing and dynamic environment; can work collaboratively as well as autonomously

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for creative writing and storytelling

  • Proficient with Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Skilled at planning, organizing, prioritizing, detail oriented and work on simultaneous projects

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining a positive attitude, sense of humor, and a desire to learn

  • Experience working with a startup and/or mobile-app a plus!

  • Experience working with an international team(s) a plus!
